Bryce Canyon is really one of the most spectacular sights you will see in your life! People tell us that they have had a spiritual experience when they see the hoodoos for the first time. Bryce is not the only national park you get to see on this trip - we also tour Zion, which is Utah's most popular park, attracting more visitors than all four of Utah's other national parks combined.
The Bryce Canyon trip leaves daily from Vegas. After passing through the deserts of Nevada, we will travel briefly through the Arizona Strip, before crossing into Utah. Just after the small town of St. George we will leave the freeway, and start making our way across Utah's spectacular countryside.
The first major stop is Zion National Park, with its towering Navajo sandstone cliffs. We will take a slow ride through Zion, stopping often for photographs and to take in the sweeping vistas.
From Zion we take a scenic Utah back road, first alongside the Virgin River, and then the Sevier River, on our way to Bryce Canyon. At Bryce the weirdly shaped hoodoos will amaze you. There are four overlooks of the amphitheater at Bryce, and we will take you to all four. You will also be able to walk a portion of the rim trail that runs around the amphitheater, from Sunrise to Sunset Point. Take a leisurely stroll, pausing frequently to soak in the views, take a million pictures, and breathe some of the cleanest air in the United States!
Before leaving Bryce we stop at the Visitor Center, where you can buy souvenirs and trinkets.
The road back to Las Vegas goes over Cedar Mountain, and climbs up to almost 10 000 feet high. On the way up you pass through enormous lava fields from centuries ago, while going down the other side there are great views of Zion from far above.
The trip takes 12 1/2 to 13 1/2 hours, and is in either a mini bus, or an executive van, which is a van with individual, high back, reclining seats. |
